Trees and nature influenced Tolkein greatly whilst writing and it is thought that the fate of The Party Tree was inspired by a similar event that took place at Mill-Pool in Sarehole, a willow tree than Tolkein used to climb. Fortunately the tree we see in the films stayed standing in this iconic set.
New Zealand has some very strict export laws for seeds which makes this tree even more of a logistical challenge. This location is where my story started back in 2017 so This Party Tree is my 'endgame' tree that I would love to offer saplings from!
Please note the anticipated RRP of a Party Tree sapling would be £150. If we cannot secure permission your pledge will still be used to plant x10 trees through the Eden Reforestation Project.
